I saw this idea in one of the comments on Free From Broke. So I tried it. The problem: what to do with gift cards when their balance is gone (other than trash them?) Solution: make them into guitar picks.
You will need:
1. Trace your guitar pick with the sharpie onto the gift card.
2. Cut out the gift card guitar pick with the scissors.
3. Line up the “real” guitar pick with the gift card guitar pick. Using the nail file, file away any excess.
4. Use the nail file to smooth any uneven or square edges.
5. Rinse the new pick off, getting rid of any remaining sharpie lines.
6. Rock out.

Now daddy can rock out while being reminded he’s got some responsibilities. Not that he forgets. He’s wonderful, actually. I just think a pick with a bottle is cute. Mommy stopped rocking out a while ago. She realized that she no longer has the discipline to attain the needed skills to be anywhere near cool.

what an awesome tip!! my boyfriend plays guitar too 🙂
Very cool idea. I usually give mine to our 7 year old and he just shreds ’em:) janice
@Miss Caitlin—Fun! I still have to get him to actually use this one. We had a busy, music-free weekend.
@Janice–I think we’re both doing the same thing…using them for entertainment :p
LOVE this!! My rocker hubby will get a kick out of this. 🙂
Great, Kelly! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I found your blog post via the Learning the Frugal life linkup…Oh, wow..I had to laugh…but I also think this is super cool AWhile back, someone had posted a photo on Facebook about “plastic surgery”…cutting up credit cards and turning into guitar picks…and then I saw this…this is cool :)_ 🙂 🙂 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather 🙂
Very cool! I stumbled on the linkup a few weeks ago through Juliecache 🙂 It’s good to meet you and I enjoy your blog!
