Guys, I’m pretty excited about everything we’re doing for the Frugality Challenge. I mean, just look at this:

And those are just the tweets with pics. We’ve been hustling, saving, investing, and selling all that old stuff we don’t need for cold, hard cash. While I know I could be putting in even more effort individually, collectively we have been rocking it.
What is this Frugality Challenge you speak of?
If you don’t know what the Frugality Challenge is, it’s a game that’s currently happening on Twitter. We get points for doing good things with our money, and so far we’ve been doing great things. You can find more details, including how to join, here.
Want Updates?
I’ll be putting the final scores and rankings for the month up on the blog on November 9th, when the winner will be announced and scores will reset. But if you want weekly updates, subscribe to the Femme Frugality newsletter. That way they’ll be in your inbox every Monday.
Is it too late to join?
Absolutely not. This week, new challengers proved that they could bust into the top three with only three tweets. Let’s compete. Let’s change up our financial games. Let’s do this.
OK I have the rules printed out now so I can easily access them! Game on!
You’re kicking butt now, Tonya!
I think this is a great idea! The summer, for us, is our time when we really have to get our frugality on so we relax on the rules a bit in the fall. It’ll be fun watching you guys compete and see what you all come up with!
Definitely! And I hear you on summer. Planning on this still being around then, so you’ll have to join us!
This is so cool!
So glad to have you join us, Kara!
The challenge is so great! Even if I don’t always remember the rules (guilty, guilty, guilty!), it’s an excellent way to celebrate little (and big!) wins and to foster community. So glad I jumped on board!
I’m so glad you did, too! Way to be in second place this week!
That little guy is SO cute! Enjoying the game, Femme! Still looking for some big numbers here. 🙂
He is! Hannah makes cute babies.
Jealous of those avocados! Dang you, west coasters!
Haha I hear you on that! The chances of me finding random avacados in my Pittsburgh yard are just about zero.
Sounds cool! Unfortunately, we don’t have any specific instances of frugality other than general life stuff. Like how we stay home around 6 days a week with just one date night. Or switched our landline to get a $3.85 monthly bill. (No cell phones.)
Looks like fun, though, so good luck to all the contestants!
Those are pretty big things, Abby! And each of our lives and circumstances dictate different measures. Mel recently suggested a no spend day option, so now that’s included. If you have any other suggestions I’m more than open to adding some new ones before the ninth!
I am TOTALLY doing the frugality challenge we are in the middle of a remodel and we are being as frugal as possible! Love it! Please consider linking it to Frugal Friday!
Aww. Hannah’s little hustle helper is adorable!
I know, right? He’s lighting up this challenge. 🙂
